The Mystery of 33 Dead Bees

Our house is home to a lot of creatures both transient and permanent dwellers. In the evening we usually have bees flying around the light along with other insects. We leave them alone and try to stay out of their way. As when the morning comes they are out of our way. Today I was shocked to see a lot of dead bees on the floor. While sweeping them I counted a total of 33 bees dead. The cause is unknown to us as this hasn’t happened before. What do you think killed them? It’s a mystery I want to solve. After all, a documentary said if the bees the the world will die too.

We don’t use that in our household but maybe they were already poisoned before they got to us.

@sophie09 There are a lot of farms in the surrounding area so if they are spraying chemicals the bees might have sniffed it.

I am genuinely worried that it will be a regular occurrence. After all we owe the beautiful flowers in our lawn to the bees.

@Ladanger Thankful to them for this. We have a lot of flowers because of these pollinators.

I always have concerns when I see or hear about bees dying. The worldwide bee population is in decline, and we could be in big trouble if the bees all die, since there would be no insects available who could pollinate our trees and plants.

Yes. Small as they are bees have a very big impact on whether we get fed or not. Along with other insects and birds.

@flapiz I love bees and I am a big fan of them and the work they do. I always encourage people not to bother them and to leave them alone when they encounter them.

@flapiz Bees are very sensitive to man-made and environmental conditions. I'm glad that the bees you saw the next day were alive and well.

Wow! That is a mystery indeed. There might be something sprayed in your house which caused them to die.

@thelme55 It’s true. It’s bad for us people and insects. We should really just go organic.

As far as I know we don’t spray much at home. We are more of a mosquito net people than chemicals.

@flapiz I see. That is a mystery indeed. The chemicals are stink anyway and not good for our health.

That’s what my dad said. Maybe the neighbours sprayed chemicals on their mango tree and the bees inhaled it. They tried to hide in the house but it’s too late. It’s a theory though.

Could it be possible that they were killed in a bee battle?

Maybe they were sprayed without your knowledge.

I’m guessing our neighbours sprayed their mango trees they own a lot. And beside us another neighbour has a farm too. As far as I know we don’t use chemicals on our plants.

@flapiz okay, it seems they sought shelter and a free pesticide place, and when they landed in your home they're already suffocated. They should have not killed. They are so important in the pollenation process.

That seems to be a lot to die at one time.

Yes exactly I find it strange and alarming. Maybe they have a life cycle and they die at the same time?
