Friday Happenings, Still Moving Forward

I'm playing catch up here so please be patient with me. I really do appreciate all of the support being given to me through my friends here at MyLot during the situation going on with my mom and my brother right now. I think your prayers, thoughts, good vibes are all helping. Things seem to be going in the right direction, but then again I may be wrong. But, I'm going to lean with the positive side. My mom had another doctor visit with her primary doctor yesterday. He was very pleased with her progress. She was more alert, she was more stable on her feet, and she had gained a little weight. I was also stopped by at least 4 of the nurses, and other staff members who all told me how good she looked. They all witnessed an earlier meltdown in the doctor's office and knew she had a serious illness. After the doctor visit, we picked up Christy, my daughter who has been helping me clean out the POD. We went to my mom's house after eating lunch and got busy. We got a few more things out of the POD. Her loveseat was all the way to the back and we wanted to get it out but after seeing dog poo in the crevices and pee stains all over and a chunk had been taken out of one of the seat cushions I saw it wasn't worth even putting IN storage, let alone taking out. I brought my mother out there to see it. She agreed and said that she didn't want it. My brother had taken this to "his" room which was wrong to begin with. It had been given to my mom after the flood for the den. But he needed it more in his room. Nobody needed a comfortable place to sit in the den when visiting. We had stopped on the way to get washing detergent, dish soap for kitchen and also dishwasher detergent and was able to start washing bedding and dishes. While this was going on we started wiping down the inside of the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen. There was a lot of wood shavings left in them from installation and extra screws, etc. Photo: Pixaby

I'm glad things are looking up. I hope you won't have any more problem with your brother. Try and stay cool and don't overdo!

Oh, he is going to explode when he finds out I'm staying at moms and Christy. I hope it intimidates him so much he decides to stay with his girlfriend who is mooching off of an aunt. She lost her house the year before he lost his Condo. You know, gambling is more important than paying the mortgage.

@kareng Things just seem to get more intense. How far away does your brother live? Close enough to be a regular problem?

@LindaOHio Apparently he moved out of the camp and in with girlfriend during the hurricane. I really don't know about the camp or where the rest of mom's things are. I was told that he stayed with the gf during the hurricane and assume he is still there since he cannot get into mom's house at present. I know she is going to insist that he get a key but like I said I will be there at first and Christy so let him dare try to pull something or change locks and deadbolts for no reason.

Glad she is doing better. Keeping her meds right is a big help in that I am sure.

And on time. I'm seeing this even if an hour off so could be or couldn't be related but I would rather keep her on schedule and on a routine if at all possible.

@wolfgirl569 Exactly. A few minutes off is okay, but hours off is not.

Just another case of no responsibility or respect on my brother's part here. No surprises at this point. He had this in HIS room.
