This date 7-20-1969n is another one of dates that anyone alive at the time can remember what they were doing at the time of the first lunar landing and walk on the moon.
For me it was that Sunday evening and our church like most of the church I attended either had a early evening service or canceled to honor the event.. It was planned for our youth group to watch together at the pastor's home eating sloppy joes and chips watching those astronauts step out on to the moons and as Neil Armstrong spoke another set of words that will in history. One small step for man and one giant leap for mankind.
And now those of you who were living what do you remember about that day in history?

I remember being huddled around the TV set in my uncle's cabin while we were at a weeklong family reunion that I think started that day. Everyone was glued to the TV as we watched Neil Armstrong step out onto the surface of the moon.

At home with my parents, worrying because it was so late; and I had to go to work the next day. It got later and later and finally my mother tells me that work had called and I didn't have to go in the next day. She thought she was being funny. Thanks, mom!

I was glued to the TV with my husband. All the rest of the day is a blur. But. we were so afraid and so excited that everything else lost importance. My children were toddlers.

We were watching. I fell asleep on the living room floor before the walk, though.

I was alive but I don't remember the day at all.
Of course, I was only 6 months old...
