Little Jenny Wren

Norwich, England

The other day Adam noticed a wren eating the bugs on our honeysuckle. He slowly moved away from the window and grabbed his camera and managed to get this photo just as the wren was hopping up the honeysuckle towards the roof of our garage. Haven't seen a wren in a while so it's lovely to see they haven't deserted us.

They are cute little birds. Your wren reminds me of some of our smaller bird varieties.

I can always remember watching Sons & Daughters - an Australian soap from probably the early 1980's and there was a bird that made a hooting noise. Could that have been a Kookaburra? Never saw the bird but made the most amazing noise!

@olliesmum It might have been but I wouldn't normally have called it a 'hoot'. The kookaburra cackles and it sounds quite like laughter. Would it have been an owl?

@JudyEv I don't think so. We have owls over here but it could be that your owls sound different.

They have a beautiful song and we have them here too but not very much either. Nice photo.

I see wrens on the deck a lot, such tiny birds.
