The Legal System In My Country Is Jacked (Messed Up)

If a criminal is sentenced to life in prison, it should MEAN life. I heard about a man who was sentenced to life in prison, yet he's eligible for parole in a few years? What's with that? That's just one of a multitude of problems with my country's legal system. One other major one I can think of right off is the "prisons for profit" system. I don't have the energy to explain the details of that here, but you know where Google is if you want to research it. I will give a brief explanation of it since I mentioned it. The "prisons for profit" system incentivizes the practice of mass incarceration. That is the real reason why my country has (as far as I'm aware) one of the highest incarceration rates in the world. It's good for the bottom line.

There was one prison for profit in Colorado. They did have better food for the inmates.
