My granddaughter Carolina is working part time and taking some courses. So she has time to visit more, specially since she is using Claudia´s car. Today I took out my Dutch oven and thawed a big piece of those meats that have to be boiled until forever to get soft. They are delicious, but not expensive. There it is, with diced onions, carrots, a bay leaf, some sweet pepper and some red wine. Leticia is boiling potatoes and will make a nice green salad with lettuce, celery and avocado. I like to cook this kind of food because I know that Carolina will steal some leftovers to take to her house. She loves this because it is something that she cannot make herself. Do you have a Dutch oven? Do you use it often?

Yes, I have made many meals in my Dutch oven, but no, I don't use it often. I haven't cooked once since we have returned from Florida on June 6th! My meatballs for the freezer don't count. Enjoy your lunch. It sounds delicious!

Thank you. I did. We did, in fact. And Carolina did not take anything to carry as she had work after lunch.

@marguicha I'm so glad you had a nice lunch together. Now you will have leftovers so you won't have to do much cooking for a while.

Oh wow! That's so sweet of you to prepare something nice for your granddaughter. Even when I used to go to my granny's place I steal most of the dishes and snacks. Those will be awesome and I can't make that too.. The oven is so nice. Enjoy the lovely time with your girl.

Thank you. When I asked Carolina what food she did not like, she said 'weenies'. It is the only food she makes for herself apparently. So I prepare food she would never have time to cook.

It is a pot made of enameled tick cast iron. you just place the pot on the range and leave it until everything is cooked.
