Please Try to Understand

For someone with depression and anxiety, when you see that he/she is alive that means she has won the battle for now. So please don't expect for more or he/she will feel like she is a failure and has disappointed you. Well-meaning comments may be interpreted differently by a person with mental illness. He/she knows she is hard to live with and this adds more to her hurt. Instead, try to appreciate her, make her feel loved and valued much more than societal images of success.

I have anxiety and depression. Sometimes I think of letting the boyfriend to have a mercy killing on me every time my anxiety and depression attack.

That was what exactly what I asked my hubby in 2012 at the peak of my anxiety. It is unbearable.

@JustBhem Yes that is true. There is battle outside, battle inside...so many battles. I know you have won a lot. We have learned to be fighters

Yup I am living with one too. It may be hard to deal with him at many times but we always keep his cool and let him realise that he is loved and cared for. For now, he is able to control those feelings that bother him. I know it takes a lot of practice knowing the problem and for most that have this have their own unique ways in dealing with it.

@yoalldudes It takes a lot of that when you deal with them. I also know how they are dealing on their own. We just have to double our efforts so that the illness will have no reason to keep them at bay always.

Sometimes family forget you are sick and expect expectations applicable only to a normal person. Thank you for sharingg that you also have anxiety. How do you handle it?
