Internet, Glorious Internet!

I was just popping into mylot a few hours ago when *bam* the internet and cable went down. It was a widespread outage that affected most of the Eastern United States as well as Alaska.
Not only was the internet down but so was the cable. I was frustrated, but what was I to do?
I checked the outage map periodically, cleaned the bathroom some, ran the vacuumand was contemplating what else I could do at the moment when *Bam* Internet, Glorious Internet!
Now, I am the type of person who can sit quite serenely without power when it goes out. However, when the power is on but the internet and cable are down? I tend to get bored a lot faster.
I'm just glad it is now back up and I can continue with my previously scheduled programming (or in this case, internet usage).
Does anyone else have Spectrum and experienced this?

Spectrum AKA charter communications aka Time Warner Cable.
TWC was a lot better before Spectrum bought them out.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I used to have Bright House. The bill for Spectrum is three times as much as my Bright House used to be before Spectrum bought it out.

Well the power being out doesn't bother me, like I said I can sit in silence just fine. It's when the power is on but the internet is down that I tend to get bored. I guess it's knowing I could be using the internet if it wasn't for it being down.

I don't have Spectrum, but I hate it when the internet goes out. This tends to do it during storms, but when I first got it several years ago..they would have long term maybe 16 hour outages..it was painful.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yeah, it was the pits. Fortunately, they got that straightened out, but they are still awful in other ways.

Oh, I would not have been happy with 16 hour outages. Of course, I know there's not much you could have done. Spectrum isn't the best, but they aren't the worst either.

@snowy22315 You are / may be getting a new internet provider though, right? Werent' you saying that there was a new internet provider coming your way?

I was put at a standstill for what I usually do every day. It was annoying. The comapny is sort of crappy, but they merged with what we used to have here. We'd have to get a whole new kitten kaboodle.

I ended up watching youtube videos on data as well. I did do other things (like run the vacuum) but when I ran out of things to do (and didn't feel like reading)...
We had storms yesterday but it seems that this was all across the Eastern Seaboard and so I don't know that the outage was because of the storms or not.
I don't pay the cable / internet bill so I don't know how much it is.

Is THAT why the video I was watching ground to a halt. I moved on to other things and listened to my audio book instead.

It put me to a complete halt. I was listening to relaxing music on youtube and started to mylot when it all went down. It was down for a good three hours.

I was saying that when the power goes out (which yes, means everything is out) that I am more content, even though all I can do is sit and either talk with family, read, or use up data on my phone to peruse the internet.
When the power is on BUT the internet is not working, I hate it.
Spectrum is a internet / tv / now mobile provider.
