How 's that for good service?

On Wednesday afternoon I went into town to buy a new pair of shoes. I was told that the pair I wanted was not available in my size but could be ordered. This was fine by me, especially as there would be no extra charge and the shoes would be delivered direct to my home. The only downside was that it would take about a week for delivery, due to current difficulties at their distribution depot. Even so, no real problem. The shoes turned up today, only two days after being ordered. They are a perfect fit and are just what I wanted. I am therefore a very happy customer - the shop in question can expect more business from me in future!

That's great. I remember that you had a hole in the heel of your last pair.

I had to wear the old pair this morning, but they can now go into a well-earned retirement!

@indexer Five years is really good especially if they're your only pair - more or less.

@JudyEv This is beginning to sound like an advert for Clarks Shoes - unintended, I assure you!

Isn't it nice when things work out better than expected? Enjoy your new shoes, they look like they will be comfortable.
