An amazing discovery at a state park in Arkansas

Josh Lanik may not be a household name in the world today since he is a school teacher who came from Hebron Nebraska to visit the Arkansas Crater of Diamonds State Park on vacation with his family to look for diamonds.
Jason has now become famous for finding on the grounds of the park the largest carat brown diamond that is 2.2 carats which makes it the largest diamond that has found at the park so far this year.
Park officials are saying that due to the heavy rains that have passed through the state, the diamonds at the park are now larger than before.
Lasik at this time has no plans to sell the diamond since he wants to keep the diamond as a souvenir at this time.
In my opinion stories of persons finding huge diamonds in state parks are odd. In the case of Lasik, time will tell if his discovery of the huge diamond will make him rich and famous for having some good fortune spending time with his family looking for diamonds and catching the grand prize.

When I think of state parks in Louisiana, I think of hiking trails and the tall trees.

I did not know that a state park in Arkansas has an area to find diamonds.

@yanzalong I do not think that park has a gold mine.

The heavy rain unearthed this unusual gem for him. I heard about this. It will be interesting to see what he does with it.

That is true since he will have more "friends" now since he possesses that huge diamond.

It would be like finding a lottery ticket on a floor in the street that has a huge payoff prize.

That school teacher is lucky. The news said it's 2.12 carats, not 2.2 as you mentioned here.

That is certainly unusual and good for him. I think he should at least find out what the diamond is worth.

I agree with you since it would be wise for him to seek someone who is an expert on the value of the diamond.

I live in Arkansas. I hear about people finding a diamond several times a year from this park.
