Beware the Deadly Nightshade

Legend has it that the soldiers of Macbeth from the Shakespeare play poisoned invading Danes by giving them wine that was made from the sweet fruit of the deadly nightshade.
This incredibly poisonous plant has sweet berries and can lure unwitting people to taste them particularly children. It is native to wooded or waste areas in central and southern Eurasia.
The deadly nightshade also referred to as Atropa belladonna has dull green leaves and shiny black berries that are the size of cherries. Its stems, leaves, roots, and berries contain atropine and scopolamine which cause paralysis in the involuntary muscles of the body, even the heart. Just physical contact with the leaves can cause skin irritation.
The deadly nightshade also grows in the U.S. so beware of what it looks like and if you’re out camping or hiking stay clear of it if you even spot this plant.
Has anyone seen such a plant?

I knew an idiot when I was younger and they wanted to make tea out of this deadly nightshade and drink it to get high.

That's terrible. How are they after consuming their berries?

Me too. I thought it's Java plum or duhat in our dialect.

I don't believe I have ever seen this plant. I am wary of all plants since I made the post about the hogweed and other poisonous plants.

@LindaOHio you would but they said they told them at the office and no one is doing anything. They live near the botanical garden and go there often.

@RasmaSandra You'd think someone in a botanical garden would know about this and take it out!

I think that's an ancient story of a certain tree which drains your blood when you're within its shadow.

I may mistake it as duhat or Java plum that we used to eat during its season. Above picture is duhat.
