Star Trek and the Spin Offs

I watched the original Star Trek series (1966 – 1969) when I was a kid but didn't remember a lot of it. I just remember how much I liked Mr. Spock. My sons subscribe to Netflix for us. That's my form of entertainment. I was only ever a fan of the original series. When all those other “spin-offs” were aired on television I didn't watch them. I didn't even watch the Star Trek movies or the animated version. Since all of the series are on Netflix, I traveled back in time and watched all of old Star Trek episodes with Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock. Now I'm watching “Star Trek: The Next Generation” with Captain Jean-Luc Picard. That episode where the Worf, the Klingon and his son went back to the wild wild west was too too cute! I find that I like Lieutenant Commander Data as much as I liked Mr. Spock. What about you? Any Star Trek fans out there? * * * In Memory of: Gene Rodenberry (1921 - 1991) Leonard Nimoy (1931 – 2015) DeForest Kelly (1966 - 1991)

@BelleStarr - OK! Finished Star Trek: The Next Generation; Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: and Star Trek: Voyager. Started Star Trek: Enterprise but I'm not impressed.

I watched the original series when I was a kid. My favorite, however, was Deep Space 9.

I'm watching Deep Space 9 on Netflix. Not really that crazy about it. I thought Star Trek: The Next Generation had a better cast.

@cmoneyspinner They are doing a new series called Star Trek : Picard which gets many of the Next Gen cast back together. It will only be on CBS's subscription channel.

I also liked the original Kirk / Spock series best. Some of the spinoffs were ok but nothing to compare to the original.

I totally agree. None of them measure up to the original series.

I loved Star Trek and I had a crush for Mr. Spock. I have watched bits of the movies and did not like them. My memories of the old crew are the best.

I was a huge fan of "the real" Dr. Spock, Leonard Nimoy. He set the standard for Vulcans.

@cmoneyspinner I wholly agree. He was a true Vulcan. The actor that played him later on as a young Mr. Spock didn´t even have the right ears and had a bland face.

I was a fan of the original Star Trek and Next Generation. My interest waned with Deep Space Nine. The movies were not favorites. I did like Voyager, but the series Enterprise wasn't one I cared for. I am looking forward to the new Star Trek movie I saw a promo for recently. It appears to be a bio-pic about Jean Luc Piccard.

I liked Jean Luc Piccard very much as the captain. I liked the Star Trek: Enterprise series. The only character I did not like was "Q". I saw no reason his "insertions" into the scripts at all. He annoyed me!

@cmoneyspinner Yes, the Q episodes were the least enjoyable IMHO.

@cmoneyspinner Isn't Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation? Unless their ship is also called Enterprise and you're referring to that.

If I get a chance I'm going to try to watch the Star Trek movies. I'm curious about "The Wrath of Khan".
