Summertime Treats: Snowballs or Snowcones

This was the bomb of summertime treats when I was growing up. A trip to the snowball stand was No. 1 and we all looked forward to it all week. This trip usually happened on the weekends when my parents were off work.
Snowballs, as we call them in the south are shaved ice covered in sweetened flavors. There are tons of flavors available from fruity to bubblegum. In other parts of the country and world, snowballs are sometimes called snowcones. They are the same thing.
My all-time favorite flavors are spearmint, strawberry, pina colada, and dragon's blood.

We called them snowcones. Cherry is my favorite.

i've had more 'f 'em 's an adult than when growin'. we'd 'nly go 'nto town 'bout once a month, 'twas a treat. strawberry'd be my fav, too.

@crazyhorseladycx I don't know how folks remember what the snazzy names all taste like. Dragon's Blood became popular while my girls were teens. That is the only reason I know what it tastes like. They insisted that I try it one day.

My children were more into snowcones than I ever was. The few times I've had them I pretty much always had cherry
