My ferret is a little escape artist. We thought she couldn’t get our well she proved us wrong this morning. I took her out of the cage as long with our boy ferret to play in their dig box. While I was working on stuff at the kitchen table my 4 year old told me she got out. I saw her and went and scooped her up and our her back in. I wasn’t sure if she figured her way out or if my 4 year old picked her up and took her out. So I watched for a good few minutes and saw that she was jumping across from one step to get out. After a good few jumps she got her claws on the end of the side and pulled herself up and out.
She is too smart some days. After that I put her and the other ferret away for the day.

That’s a good movie and yes those two where smarts you can’t really train a ferrets but those two where. I had one smart one and one that is a bit lazy so he doesn’t try to get out.

They must be loads of fun to have as pets. Do they have special foods to eat?

No! She never really gets out. We do test to our changes and stuff to make sure they can’t get out and hurt.

I always thought ferrets stayed close to the ground, I had no idea they'd jump.

Do you ever let them out to run around the house and play and explore? A former neighbor of mine had two ferrets, and she would let them run all around her apartment. And then at night she would just scoop them up and put them in their cage for the night.

No we don’t we have some spots in the house they could get under and stuck in an could get hurt. So we have like a place cage and a cage. When we get a bigger places we plan on making it ferret friendly so they can be our. But also with 3 small kids they could easily step on them. We didn’t get one till I was 7 and I was the youngest.

They are part of the same family as weasels but are not weasels.
