Diary 4th To 7th August 2019

Sunday 4th August - I did little but write and read today. I ordered a new microphone for my computer. I expected it to cost £7.00 but Ebay awarded me a voucher so it only cost £2.00. Monday 5th April 2019 - My welfare hearing, with the appointment time moved up three hours at short notice by my advisor but fortunately not clashing with anything. She was then ten minutes late seeing me with no apology for it. Se seemed happy with my job search activity and told me that as she will be away, I have a different advisor in two weeks at my next scheduled appointment. I got some shopping in, and without realizing it I dropped some money as I was waiting for the bus but another passenger spotted it and returned it to me promptly which was really honest of him. My package from ebay arrived but to my sorrow it was not the right item. Instead of the microphone ordered I received a useless USB adapter. I wrote a message to the seller who insisted I photograph the item I actually received (surely he knew what it was already) and then he told me that he had no more of the microphone I wanted so he repaid me through Paypal. To my surprise he didn't just send the £2.00 but the whole £7.00 (including the £5.00 awarded initially in voucher form by e-bay) and he never asked for the stupid adapter back either so I actually profited by his mistakes. Diary Tuesday 6th August 2019 Much as Sunday, though checking my bank account showed that some money owed to me by the university has gone into my bank account. Diary Wednesday 7th August 2019 I visited the community centre, preparing notes for tomorrow's hearing at the volunteering centre regarding the bullying allegations the leaders are trying to suppress rather than dealing with it, as covered in in earlier diary entries. They seem more intent on shutting me down than actually investigating my concerns. It could get ugly and I fear I might be resigning from the role, but time will tell. Arthur Chappell

I am glad that you were able to be refunded. Amazon once sent me an item that did not work, I was refunded and they did not even ask for the item back.

@arthurchappell It was something low priced, they surely thought it was not worth sending back.

The seller did a wise move. He repaid you the whole amount of the item for he didn't know that you paid the reduced price and didn't ask you to return the microphone. Did he ask for an apology?

@Nakitakona I expect he still gets the full payment - it was ebay who gave me the discount - I have no need to apologize to him, and if anything he should apologize for messing up the order

@arthurchappell Now I see. I got the point why he paid you in full.

that's great you got your money back both from the seller and the passenger on the bus. Wonder why the seller didn't you ahead of time that he didn't have anymore microphones.

It makes me mad when they deliver the wrong item or one that has defects in it. Just go away from those negative people.

I'm sorry you received the wrong item; but at least it didn't cost you anything. I hope the hearing goes well.

@LindaOHio A partial success for me but it leaves some tension in the air sadly
