In Sundays August 4th Newspaper there was a beautiful story about a couple who the bride was encouraged to write to his brother who was serving overseas during WW2 which blossom into a romance via letters after she sent the first letter a Christmas card in 1943. Over the course of time
the letters traveled the world going from her home in Tennessee to the Philippians and New Zealand where after several months he finally wrote a description of himself and received a picture of her a 8 by 10 that hung in their home for many years after they were married.
The first time that they met he was on leave and went to meet her in person. The next letter he sent contain a marriage proposal. The second time they saw each other was for the marrige license and blood tests and the third time was on their wedding day for a marriage that lasted over 60 years.
But was even a little more amazing is how these letters which been lost were returned to the family members who are excited to have these letters back and finally learn of the parents love story after the letters wee accident donated to a local thrift shop here where the family reside and the letters where in the parents home in a blue military til both parents had died.
What is remarkable is how the letters were returned. The couple that brought the military box at a thrift store for 250 dollars upon upon seeing what was inside started researching and discovering the name of a church that family attended was the same they visited when visited one of their own grandparents was able with the help of a old church picture directory able to locate family members of who are glad to have the letters back and thankful to the couple who would not take anything for being able to give this family a piece of their history back. They are enjoying reading their parents letters and finding out what made their marriage so strong.

That is such a beautiful story about a great romance and a kind couple who understood how much those letters would mean to the family.
