Book sale at the library

One of our local libraries is moving, and before they close the old library they are selling some of their books. The book sale started months ago. I decided to visit it today. I was afraid that all of the good books were gone, but there were still plenty of books left.
The book sale was in a separate room next to the library. The librarian told me where it was, and I was positively surprised when I saw the room. There were about 20 boxes full of books 
Some of them were on the tables, and the rest were on the floor.
There were plastic bags next to the boxes, and a bag full of books cost $3. I found 11 books. I picked 7 novels and 2 short story collections. I also bought a novel for my husband and a book about Ireland.

We had something similar at our library. But I have a problem with libraries in general. I don't like reading books which too many people have already read before me. One I borrowed a book which more than 20 people had already read as I could see from the stamps inside. Arrgh!
I cover the book covers so that I don't have to touch them directly but still find them a bit repulsive. I prefer buying used books on amazon. There one can often find books which have been read only once.

Yes, a lot of people touch the library books. At my library the popular books have long waiting lists, often more than 100 people, so 20 people doesn't sound bad to me. I use the library a lot, but can't say that I have never thought about the number of people who have touched the books before me. I don't want to think too much about that. It is not a nice thought, but I have to accept if I want free books.

I also love it. There were still plenty of books left, and I found several interesing ones.

I am happy I got the chance to visit it before the sale ends. There were so many books, and I found several interesting ones. It nice that you also have book sales. It is a great place to find cheap books.

This sounds to be a good deal. So you took that bag? or you got a option to choose different 11 books?

We were able to pick our own books. I picked up an empty bag and filled it with the books I was interested in. There was room for more than 11 books in the bag, but I wasn't interested in the rest of the books.

@Porcospino Wow... So I didn't miss read or misunderstood that line You actually got those books for $3. Hope condition of books are good enough to read. I paid $6 to have a second hand book

It was excited when I saw the room. I didn't expect to find so many books, but it was great.

Yes, they were very cheap. I was surprised there were lots of books left. I look forward to reading the ones I bought.
