Hi My Lot, As a friend of mine put it - I'm a big, giant "fair groupie". lol. That is - I go to as many county fairs as I possibly can. Do you like fairs? Or for our non-U.S. friends - do you have something similar in your area? Do you enjoy going to them? I can't help it. There is just something so magic about fair food scents in the air, looking at the animals, watching people, and fair lights. Playing bingo, listening to music.... You see the most interesting things. An old man with a long white beard looking like pirate santa, dozens of teen girls who were probably told not to leave the house dressed "like that". Teen age boys who act like they know everything. Someone walking their rooster. Lights on fair rides. The vendors selling overpriced goods, playing the same song on repeat. Of particular note - this year I have managed to * see a water skiing squirell * feed a white tiger There is another 1 or 2 I may go to... time will tell, but happily I have gone to 4 different fairs so far this year and that is doing fairly well. :-) Have you been to any? I LOVE fairs. My favorite is back home. The Wisconsin State Fair. We didn't make it this year. But I LOVE it.

@FayeHazel Unfortunately where I live currently there aren't as many. There really aren't any around here that interest me like many of the ones we went to in Wisconsin. We usually go to a BBQ fest and the Chili Cook Off. But not much else. We try to get to the Wisconsin State Fair every year, but we do miss it sometimes. This year was one of the years we missed it.

@FayeHazel They are a tad different. They have restaurants to eat in with fine dining and set in parks.

Oh cool! I hope you get to go again soon if you want. I wonder how European fairs differ from the little county fairs here

Wow, a water skiing squirrel! I didn't know that squirrels could do that?

Me either! Apparently they can, but not real well. The squirrel made it 3 laps around a small pool before jumping ogg

It's been a long time since I've been to the Brown County Fair here. It's sometime this month, and it doesn't look like I'll be going this year either. I totally enjoyed it the time I went.

That's interesting, there's a Brown Co. here, too. It's South. I've been wanting to get to that one in MN since it's held in New Ulm, where I grew up. I wish you could go … but hope your summer is nice anyway

Well, I went to the Colorado State Fair a couple times in the 80's to see a couple bands. Do Oktoberfest and Spring Fest in Germany count? Because those were a blast!

Heh heh I think Oktoberfest and Spring Fest would count double if you're in Germany. :-)

I love fairs..the oldest one I have been to is Abingdon town fair in England that is one of the oldest in UK at least. And another one I went to was the Puck fair in Ireland. I do love fairs.

Years ago I would take my son but not any more. I like the food. Unhealthy but good.
