Before I go Missing Again

The tent has been put away. The camping dishes have been washed and tucked back into their space in the back of MrsJ’s closet. The sleeping bags have been laundered and are now hanging on the clothesline to air out and dry before they are put away until the next time they are needed. It’s only a matter of time before MrsJ scoops me up and tucks me back in some dark corner until she needs her boy toy to keep her amused while MrP takes photos on their next adventure. I don’t know why MrsJ grumbles about MrP and the time and effort he lavishes on his camera. As you can see in the photo he still has time for me and is even making the effort to help me take better photos myself. I was a little bit worried about sitting on top of his tripod. The wind was blowing hard and the spray from the splashing waves was coming very close. Fortunately, he kept me safe and we were both able to get beautiful photos of the lighthouse in Bass Harbor (just a few miles from where the humans were camping in Acadia National Park). If I know MrsJ, though, she’ll share one of her own photos instead of something snapped by one of the menfolk! Do you use your own photos or opt for photos taken by someone with a little more skill and better equipment?

I usually use my own photographs for discussions here, unless I share a Bible verse instead.

I don't use my own photos very often since I haven't mastered the art of taking selfies. My arms don't seem to be long enough. I usually use MrsJ's photos since MrP has better security on his laptop.

@SophiaMorros I don't take selfies either-don't worry, you're not alone on that one!

MrP has thousands of photos...most of which are variations of the same thing. MrsJ made the mistake of putting all of his photos on her laptop a couple of years back and ended up with over 1000 photos to deal with just of the eclipse that crossed near this area.

I use the camera in my phone. It serves me well. I’ve managed a couple of great shots, but it was lightning in a bottle. I’m a picture-taker, not a photographer. PS — if they stuff you in a drawer you’re free to run away. I’ll give you a prominent place next to my Marvin the Martian.

MrsJ isn't as good as she thinks she is. I use her photos because taking selfies with short arms is really, REALLY hard and I prefer to use photos where I am in front of the camera instead of behind. I wouldn't want you all to miss a chance to see my handsome yellow face.
