Limited MyLot So Far Today Due to Satelite

Living out in the country, sticks, the boonies or whatever you want to call it has its advantages and disadvantages. The biggest disadvantage is the internet service. We basically have one choice which is satelite internet.
The company who has the monopoly is Hughes.net that they provide substandard service. Like today; we have a sunny sky with no rain clouds in sight or on the radar. Yet the internet keeps flaking in and out. This is so annoying. I have waited for the same page to load for up to ten times trying to get connected.
It is now after lunch and it seems to be working a bit better. However, I'm about aggravated enough not to just go take a nap. LOL.
I just wanted to let you guys know why I haven't been online much today. I'll be back

yes ma'am, that country net's many drawbacks - from service to pricin' fer such. when 'tis yer 'nly option, ya gotta learn to breathe'n go with the flow. i'm prone to sweepin' floors 'n other mundane thingies when the one here'd be havin' one 'f "those" days/nights.

@kareng i've 'd numerous discussions with 'em o'er the years 'bout such. seems don't matter what the weather'd be where we're 't - 'tis what weather's where the satellite signal 'd be generated from?? i dunno, i think they ought'a discount their bills fer their crappy service.

@porwest Very true and it is also more expensive than what you would pay in the city. We pay $75 a month for internet only. I only paid around $40 when living back in the city and that was high-speed unlimited service. I don't have unlimited service with this company.

We tried them and didnt like them. We went with Sprint phone service. For internet we use the hotspot on the phones now. It seems to work well.

@wolfgirl569 That's the best part. That is how our cell service went. Getting same service for half the price with switch to Straight Talk.

@kareng I am very happy that we switched. It isnt costing us anymore than the total was before either.

You're not alone my friend. In our country we have big Internet provider, the PLDT and the Globe. But they fall short of their efficient service they promise.

I hope you sleep well. =) I use my mobile hotspot on my phone and it's tough to get it to load at times, so I get it!

Hughes net has a bad reputation...and rightly so! Take a nap, you'll feel better.
