Obamacare & Medicare for All

If anyone can get healthcare in America, what's the big deal about Obamacare and the Medicare for All that many of the Democrats running for president are talking about? Those programs are health insurance not care.
As someone who was on Obamacare for several years, it cost me a ton of money and I was never able to use it because the deductibles were so high.
When I turned 65 I was able to go on Medicare. However, since I got my first job at the age of 16,i started paying into it. A lot of money was taken out of my paycheck to pay for health insurance when I was older. It's mine by right. I paid for it.
Medicare for All will give to all what I had to pay for. It will water down my coverage. It also allows some government bureaucrat the authority to decide what care I can actually get.
So why are politicians pushing for this. It's simple. It makes the insurance companies rich and they, in turn, contribute to the politicians who made them rich.

Not EVERYONE gets Obamacare. People choose not to pay for it and take the penalty. What if they then get appendicitis or cancer? You can't run to the ER b/c you have cancer or high blood pressure or depression. You'll get 2 days worth of meds and a referral to a specialist.
Stop being misleading.

You can go to the ER for any reason. Even if you are depressed to the point where they think you are a danger to yourself, they will admit you. They may move you to a different facility but you will be treated. It's the law.

@garysibi yeah but once you are found to not be a danger to yourself. . . you are on your own and your depression (or WHATEVER the issue is) is still there. They have to treat emergency situations and stabilize people. . . then they discharge them. That isn't health care. What about people with long-term conditions--high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, etc? or Darwin forbid. . . birth control?

It sounds like Canada has a much better system for taking care of citizens healthwise than the U.S. does.

If you can get a doctor's appointment. A lot of Canadians come to the USA for serious issues and pay full price. When Mick Jagger had heart surgery earlier this year, he came to the USA.
