Two undesired immigrants!

The UK's immigration crisis can be seen in this photo, taken recently in Green Park, London. One of them arrived from the United States in the 19th century, the other escaped from captivity in the 1970s.
Here they are together, both turning their backs on me! Can you see who I'm talking about?

Unlike chameleons, they cannot change colour to match their surroundings - which would be useful after Summer is over for the parakeets!

It's a ring-necked parakeet. They are all over London, but have not spread much further than that. The squirrel is an American grey - the native red squirrels are only seen in a few limited parts of the country, where every effort is made to keep the greys at bay.

I had trouble picking up the parrot. Some animals really thrive in countries other than their own.






. I had trouble finding the bird . . . but I found it . . . that's a big parakeet!
