Traditionally, names like Maria, Stacy,Tracy, Shannon,Ashley, and Alice are female names.
However, I've heard of a few men who had these names.
I thought it was interesting for the novelty of it.
Shannon Hoon (Lead singer of Blind Melon)
Stacy Peralta (former professional skateboarder)
Alice Cooper (stage name of singer Vincent Damon Furnier)
David Ashley Parker (man made famous in a Travis Denning song of the same name.)
Tracy Byrd (Country singer from the 1990's)
Giovanni Maria Versace (the birth name of fashion designer Gianni Versace)
Any names you'd add that you've heard?

A friend of mine from UK is named Kelvin instead of Kevin. Is that unusual?

Given that Kelvin is a unit of temperature, I'd say yes it's unusual for someone to be named that.

I see nothing odd about David Ashley Parker - there are lots of Davids (including my own son) and Ashley is a familiar surname (e.g. the Ashley Coopers who are the Earls of Shaftesbury) so it is not surprising that it should be used as a given name.
You could add Shirley Crabtree to your list - he was the all-in wrestler known as Big Daddy.

@indexer, Ashley is traditionally a female name (at least where I'm from), as I mentioned in the post. That's why David Ashley Parker made my list. He was the 1st man I'd ever heard of with the name Ashley (as a middle name or generally.)

I have heard of men named Stacy and Tracy. The other names I would think are female names.
