Why Evangelicals support Trump 5 ppm

Given a lot of what I share here you might get the idea that I'm a fan of Donald Trump. Believe me, I'm not. He was just a better option than Hillary Clinton and, assuming the Dems will pick one of the current herd of candidates, it looks like it will be the same in 2020. Trump disgusts me. I wouldn't let him pet my dog, but he's done a decent job as president.
Here's a good article about why Evangelicals vote for Trump. I'm Catholic, not Evangelical, but the article does a good job of summarizing my point of view as well.
Ben Howe's new book claims evangelicals are betraying Christian values for political power by backing Trump. This isn't true. Trump is like Cyrus the Great, not one of us but our champion nonetheless.

Yes re-electing a man who called himself the King of Israel and the Chosen One today makes PERFECT sense. Good freaking god you people are ridiculous. You'll re-elect a madman who is suffering from dementia before thinking about an alternative. I hope *someone* primaries him.

Does Trump say some stupid things? Sure. He has a huge ego. Would you rather have Elizabeth Warren who lied and cheated her way through Harvard and getting her career started? How about Creepy Uncle Joe who made the women on his Secret Service detail watch while he went skinnydipping? Personally I can't stand the guy. I wish the Dems would impeach him so we got Pence as president. Is America better better off under his presidency than it was under Obama or would have been under Hillary? You better believe it. And the Democrats are not serving up anyone better this election. The few that show any common sense whatsoever get booed by the others. I would be ecstatic if Trump were to decide that he had enough of all this BS and bailed. It's not going to happen and, of all the available options, he's the best one.

I agree with you since there is an old saying that goes "Know the Devil you serve." I am not fan of the current POTUS either.

Science Journals call your problem cognitive dissonance, but that's just a fancy way of saying you're unable to accept the truth.
