Yay! I got my big girl her first Christmas present. I used my verydice points and redeemed my 10,076 points to get her a mermaid book. I know my girl well. She loves mermaids so I think it’s a perfect gift for her and it’s a book. My kids love books especially reading. So it should be here mid September. Now to go back and save some more points to get another gift for one of the boys.

such a good mom... as much as possible kids should not be into ipad or smartphone yet. and books might be traditional but it is safer than technology

Actually technology has lots of things to offer. I did grow up in the technology age myself. Yes there risk but when a parent watches and guides correctly it’s not that bad. Children that has learning disabilities actually benefit from it the most. We do have an iPad time where they can use it for reading games, math games all through there school. But we also have a lot of books, the kids play outside as often as they ca.

@Mavic123456 haha yeah, or playing tag or whatever. Some times they take out baby dolls, chalk. I get a lot the out door stuff for like Easter. It’s also why we want to move towards the beach it’s got more stuff for the kids to do outside of the house.

@ShyBear88 That is so sweet! And such a cool way to get gifts. I am already thinking about Christmas gifts as I hate shopping around December. Too chaotic!

@tech40 they don’t have a phone. They have to share my iPads during the school and summer on educational apps that are approved. They have several apps they enjoy doing math and reading on or drawing a little picture.

Thank you! I’m trying to save where I can and we only get the kids 4 presents so we don’t go cray like some parents do.

@ShyBear88 I agree. There's no reason to go overboard with presents.

@ShyBear88 I mean to put your points to the right use as in to what you did getting your daughter a present finding sth constructive of it rather than wasting it over a mere game or sth ....duh she seems to hate me already

@Loverabbit it was either save the points up for a gift or save it up for a gift card but the points to pick and items in a search tends to be lower then a gift card. My kids love games. We are getting them Mouse trap this year they have been wanting it for a while and it’s a board game. They like playing guess who and connect 4. Board games are a must during the winter months a lot of time is spent inside. Fall is coming in a few weeks so they are soaking up what last of are warm sunny days we can get.

She doesn’t always like reading since she has dyslexia but she does read often enough that books are a good gift.

That's a good way to use your points. I've got too many things to think about before I start shopping for Christmas. Although, if I happen to see something then I might get it. How old are your children? I'm guessing that your girl is very young if she's getting that book. Saying that, my eldest son is 19, my eldest step-daughter is 25, and they are both very much into unicorns and suchlike!

My children are 8, 7, and 4 year old. I think books are great st any age because you can never really have to many. Once the kids have master one book I do donate it if it hasn’t been through the mill of the other two too much.
