Just A Bit Of Patience Would Do Thank You.....

Been on the phone to England again to that National Social Security yet again.
Usually women with Scottish accents answer so I am not having any problems with that at all.
But this time it was a Geordie accent which means that it was someone who comes from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
A bit short tempered he was as well because I asked him to repeat a question as I was not sure what he asked me.
Once I went out with a "Geordie Guy" whom I had a bit of a problem to understand as he had a very deep guttural accent where he swallowed a lot of the words and so I told him.
I think the West Midlands Wolverhampton accent is much harder to understand than the Geordie and the Sunderaland one is as well.
Anyway I managed to do all I needed to do and after that as he was hearing I was from the North like him he softened up a bit and was okay.
A bit of patience from his side of the phone was not that forthcoming at first as I thought God he reminds me of the guy who asked me to marry him and a flood of memories came back as I was hearing him speak well just for a few seconds anyway.
I thanked him for pointing a couple of things out but I also said you have to realize that these are not everyday things for most mortals and he was okay after.

Och I am with you there on that one but its very easy for me to understand them says me who has heard nothing but Scots, Welsh and Irish all of her life.
However the language that the Public servants use is totally different to any other.
So I pointed that out to the guy in a nice way that we were not all born knowing that kind of procedure and language that they speak.

@lovinangelsinstead21 It's good you pointed out your difficulties to the guy. Hopefully, it might make him a bit more aware in future.

Sunderland and Geordie ones are a bit of a bugbear by phone but once I hear them for a few minutes I am back home again.
I have not heard French accents from Western Africa as yet.
Welsh to me is very easy I suppose that is alright for me to say that being from very close the North Wales Border and Telford being considered the old gateway to Wales.
I say that to our dog cariad bach and ceridwen and he goes all daft the soft thing.
One of my Aunties is from Sunderland and I was used to her but her sister was a bit harder to follow bless her.

So do I tops and from all over the country including here.
I love Blackpool always have done and some will look down their nose at me but could not care less.
I got my funny accent from my Aunty who is from Sunderland but lived in Upper Gornal all of her life so I speak Wolverhampton English with and Upper Gornal accent but not using the slang from there very much.
So when I met up with a friend from here“s Dad he said yow am an Upper Gornal wench ay yer eh?
Which quite surprised me but throught it funny how people influence us when we are small.
There we use the r instead of the t for a lot of things that we say like ay ave gorra gow now up the road which sound something like rowed instead a singy songy sound to it is what they tell me I have and I am quite proud to be like that I never hide it ever or try to be posh either.
Nothing wrong with having a posh accent either.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I never went to Sunderland and only once to Newcastle where I visited the castle (not that new
). I do not remember if I had a problem with the accent. As I spent many holidays in Blackpool, I feel comfortable with Northern accents.

I got where he was coming from almost right away but his impatience to even repeat one question was not a good way for him to be and I am from the North too so I easily understand what they are talking about most of the time.

Yes I am glad that is over and done with for now and he was a bit impatient at first but then he knew I was more or less where he is from as well and we both kicked in in ohter words we both understood each other.

Communicating with heart and with grace can sometimes make the conversation okay.
