I read a blog today that mentioned that Buddy Holly was born on September 7, 1936, so she looked upon September as Buddy Holly Month but of course, I know other singers were born in this month too. However, thinking of Buddy Holly and the awesome music he left us I remembered a particular song that always made me feel good and put me in a fantastic mood and that was “Rave On”. The song was written in 1958 and when Buddy Holly recorded the song that same year it became a number one hit. Who knows this song? Who knows of other singers who were born in September?
Well, the little things you say and do make me want to be with you. Rave on, it's a crazy feeling and I know it's got me reelin', When you say I love you Rav...

I've never heard this one. It does have that 1950s sound.

I often wonder what would have happened that night if they had listened to Richie Valens.

Buddy Holly was a great singer. I love all his songs. He was big-time when I was growing up.

I remember Buddy Holly. He's on the cusp of my age group -- my husband is older than I am and remembers him much better than I do. In fact, his friends said he looked like him. I find singers just about every day in my daily post about things that happened on this date.

My first time to hear the song. Now, I know where Elvis found it's inspiration. The song is quite like an Elvis song.
