Professional Mourners?

I just came across one of the strangest jobs I've ever heard of. A professional mourner. They get paid to stand with people at funerals and mourn with them, or comfort them as they mourn as I understand it. What do you all think of this?

sounds like a very depressing job and the only sense I could make of it is if they were hired by those who knew that the deceased would not have any or very little mourners.

I've heard of them; and I think if most of the relatives had already passed, they might be the only comfort that you have.
