Loud Noisy Construction Day

bobcat picks up tar

Here I am watching copper cables. That is my job. There are workers who build a sidewalk, improving the road, adding parking, using tar, tractors, bobcats making a lot of noise. The sun hides behind the clouds once in a while. The workers work without breath protection, no helmets, under the sun... Do you like construction works around you? What do you think about construction jobs?

Wasn't it better if we all could live in nature, without all of the concrete, tar, smoke, noise, plastic...?

the sidewalk in progress
They work hard, true, I don't know if I could work this job even with protection against air pollution, hat with a lot of cover long clothes, and cold fresh water to drink. I would need a lot of rest and food. (Maybe with experience I would get stronger). Those workers build what we use for cars, walking...

@stringer321 Of course he does and yes they have safety rules and guidelines everyone must follow. He learned from his uncle when he was 10 years old since his parents made him leave school so he could work and help the family. He makes $2400 per month for a family of 7--not great money but God provides and we live. =)

@LovingMyBabies it shows we don't need too much more than food, roof and internet, and love for the family. :-)

@LovingMyBabies does he protect himself? Do they have safety rules ? Did he learn the job somewhere ? Does he get enough money in your opinion?

I think construction work would be quite hard for workers. It's certainly noisy at times.

tar sidewalk
The 80+ decibels noise has finally over. I was smart to have ear plugs to protect my ear drums. The photo is the temporary result of the work for today. The workers are not here now. This work is hard comparing to many other kinds of work. The health damage can be reduced though.

I guess we need those services a lot because we use cars, to be able to get from one location to another. I appreciate it too. Do you know if this kinds of jobs are formally learned anywhere ?

bulldozer
We need those services so we have roads so we can use cars to get faster from one location to another. Do you know if those jobs are being studied anywhere ? Is it supervised by the country?

Well, I think there are things we can do, like how people lived centuries ago...with no services, no transportation but feet...ummm, there are many diy guides on the internet, and with the internet, we can do many things without leaving home now... What do you think ?

copper cables I watch
Depends where, because, there are offers from many different contractors, each offers a different price for his service. So, that is a matter of how much we need the work, how many offer the service, the quality, the competition, safety rules...if the workers don't follow safety rules, they are cheaper even if they risk their lives. But, maybe they will get to do the job.

oh my :( i'm most concerned 'bout all 'f y'all's health since they seem to not be providin' the proper safety 'quipment. glad ya'd some ear plugs, 't least that's somethin'. i dislike construction. messy fumes, toxins floatin' 'mong the air, the noise, etc. do they not've laws to protect the workers? o.s.h.a. would be all o'er 'em with a long list 'f violations here. they'd be shut down 'til they complied - safety equipment 'tis might important.

I tried to ask one of them wether he puts sun screen. He doesn't. Some of them wear wide hats and long cloths for protection. That's what I saw.

@stringer321 , that's right. That's the reality for those who lack education they are hired as laborers, however not all whose education at scarse can work in a labor or construction industry because only skilled and the fittest will be given the priority to work there .

Construction work is really very hard work; I pity the construction men who work without protective gears; the contractor should provide it.
