It is common practice for women to get their ears pierced these days; but it is interesting to find out a little bit about body piercing's history. Mummified remains have been found with pierced earrings dating back to more than 5,000 years ago. Nose piercing is documented as far back as 1,500 B.C. The popularity of body piercing has come and gone in the Western culture. After World War I clip-on earrings were in vogue; while after World War II pierced earrings again gained popularity. Body piercing in certain subcultures peaked again in the 1970s and became more mainstream by the 1990s. Some piercings are cultural such as lip piercing and stretching and tongue piercing. Yeah, I have my ears pierced and I have at two(2* 2 ears) points. I also have my nose pierced. These are part of my culture and we so believe that those are trigger points and it connects to the nerves. I also see that as a way of accumulating jewellery(gold) .. haha kidding!
