Well I've been back to work since labor day, Sept 2nd. But first a recap, and because I'm long winded, part one.

My three months being off after knee surgery would have been September sixth. I started back in the holiday so I could get time and a half especially because I'm only working a few hours per shift right now. With my first knee it was slower going during my time off with it healing. I wasn't able to bend my knee as far as expected by the end of my therapy although I was able to extend it to zero by then. I think it stayed swollen much longer than the recent knee too. I remember having to sleep on the couch because the bed was not comfortable but also because I needed to sleep with a lot of pillows to keep the swelling at bay. But when it was time to return to work I was ready. My knee no longer hurt, I don't think I could bend it enough yet but I could do stairs both ways and even though there was still a lot of numbness it didn't bother me at all. Also while in physical therapy they massaged the sides of the wound to minimize scar tissue. I never massaged the area on my own but never had any residual problems with it. It is said that the numbness could last a year and for some it may never totally go away. I've no idea when mine quit being numb but eventually I did notice it was gone. I may add more to this first section or change it around entirely. I don't like how I ended it.

I am so glad to hear that this recovery went easier, I think you did better because you knew what to expect

Actually I think it was easier because the second knee wasn't quite so messed up. Plus I was habitual with exercising up to surgery this round.

It being numb sounds better then to feel pain. That's too bad it was slower to heal but I'm glad your better and back to work.

The numbness doesn't hide the pain. The numbness is mostly down the line of incision although it can cover a larger portion of the knee also. Yesterday I started back at my full time hours again. I've been getting adjustments on my back twice a week and doing some stretches and this week my back is hurting less while standing. My back hurting was more of a concern than my knees, but there were certain aspects of that that weren't great as well. So a combination.

@MarshaMusselman I often get error screens, this problem has never been fixed.

@MarshaMusselman You will surely feel better in a couple of weeks, the important is that the surgery was worth it.

I don't know that I want to go back to work but I need to work for a few more years yet. Maybe in a month my knee will be where I thought it would be at the end of August. If not I will hope that I get those results sooner rather than not at all. But even then the surgery was worth it .
