It's Been a Long Time Coming!

I only have a small garden so I sometimes have to look for miniature versions of some of my favourite plants so I was pleased to find a dwarf buddleia. I cut it back a bit last winter and I began to think that this year it was going to flower. It grew well and had plenty of leaves but I couldn't see any buds. However, although it should have started blooming in July/August it's decided to bloom in September and, as you can see, it was worth waiting for. Unfortunately it may be a little bit late to attract some of the beautiful butterflies we have here in Norfolk but, nonetheless, it gives a lovely brightness to my flowerbed.

I really love dwarf things whether plants or objects. Your buddleia will no doubt give you a lot of pleasure.

I do wish it'd come out earlier so I could have taken a few photos of butterflies.

It seems that your garden is tremendous. I would love to have such a garden.

It's small but I certainly manage to squeeze a lot into it!

We have a big butterfly bush in the garden which thrives well although nobody does anything for it.
We’ve got a summer lilac, aka Buddleia (also spelled Buddleja), aka Butterfly Bush on our garden. Three terms for rather a modest and self-sufficient plant....

Because I have such a small garden I have to try and keep things neat and tidy but I do wonder whether it took a while to flower this year due to a rather wet and dull early summer.
