Philippines
September 17, 2019 2:24pm CST
This afternoon one of the guest forgot to close the gate properly. Later on, when a stray dog passed by and one of the dogs pushed the gate then the other chase it. Thank God he peed because i couldn't catch him he was fast. I brought him back and leashed him. But since the're no visitors tonight I just let them free again. Have a nice day

Glad he stopped to pee and you were able to catch him. That happened to me a few times when my dog escaped.

That is the problem with dogs that are very eager to get out of the gate. I think they do not know how to return back home and eventually gets lost they get to escape from the gate. We used to have a dog that eventually learned to get back home when we tried to let him go by themselves. Eventually he learned to find his way back home. So every time he gets out of our yard we do not bother catching him anymore and just wait for him to come home. He would just scratch the gate to let us know he wants to be back home again.

@Letranknight2015 I guess not all dogs can be tamed and can go home on their own.

Hello @rakski most specially if he was on the main road filled with vehicles that doesn't care who they ram into.

Hello @birjudanak It's really scary because they might end up being run over or hit by a vehicle on the street.

Some dogs love to run away and go exploring. It's good you were able to catch him.

Hello @JudyEv well, if only we had a bigger space but right now it's dangerous for them on the road.

Yes it was good that he let you catch him. Nothing wrong with letting them outside as long as they are good enough to not want to run off on you.
