Yay to new laptop

I now have a new laptop. I am so happy about that. It's the same brand as my older one, but I have a different operating system. Things I have to get used to The Keyboard (It's keys are slightly closer together than my old laptop) Not double clicking (It takes only a single click to get where I need to go) Things I do not have to deal with anymore Browser Crashes Browser Freezing The Keyboard being laggy Yes, I still have my old laptop. I will use it to read my kindle books with, and to shop with just to make it easier. Plus there are things I have bookmarked on that one that I do not have on this one. I know some browsers allow you to log into them to retrieve bookmarks, but not the browser I use. Guess how much I paid for this new device. What's the last thing you bought?

Good for you. I have a MacBook for a few years now and love it. Groceries were my last purchase.

I have a family member who had one but it did not last very long. He decided to stick with windows or linux operating systems instead. I'm glad you love your macbook.

@CarolDM After I get used to Linux, I may feel the same way. I was told that Linux is a much more secure operating system as well.

I'm guessing around $300. I just bought baby wipes, a lighter for my stove, all laundry detergent and tostitos cheese dip on walmarts website so that's the most recent thing I bought.

@shaggin I was talking to a relative and told him that mine was messing up. He said he didn't use this one and proceeded to put the linux operating system on it for me.

I went to walmart today. It's been awhile since I've been to this walmart. I usually go to the local grocery stores in lieu of walmart. However, walmart carried one thing I knew I'd need. I also ended up buying a pair of leggings that I did not need. The retail price of the laptop was more around the $600.00 mark I believe. However, I did not pay anything for it.

Nice gift, woohoo - Yeah I cheated and read comments. I am curious though as to what brand it is. I'm fixing to go shopping for a new laptop very soon. The last thing I bought was a scope for hubby's rifle and mounts for it. Also a set of "keepers." I think that must be his payback for the hall bathroom remodel. LOL.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I just called them that. They are basically a strap with connectors on them where you can snap them at different areas for the size you need. They can go on holsters, belt loops, etc. for other equipment.

What are "keepers" It's an HP laptop. It's about.. I think atleast four years newer then my old laptop, but it might be newer than that. Let's say it's about a 2015 model. Linux operating system.

I plan to buy some books this Saturday. One of the local stores moved locations and is having a grand opening. I'm going as they have prizes, including signing up for the chance to win store credit. I have to feed my sister's animals and then I'm going to head to the store. My sis may pay me, so if she does... Well I'll be using that money towards new books. As for the laptop? Oh it was a great deal indeed. Absolutely free. No, I didn't steal it.

@CookieMonster46 Nah, a relative gave it to me. I have to get used to the linux operating system but i don't thin that will be a problem. My sister usually always pays me but she didn't mention it this time and I didn't ask.

This is the same brand as my older one, just a few years younger. It's also the same brand I would have picked for myself.

It's always nice when you can get something new. I do occasionally get a little something for myself once in a while.

I thought I was going to have to wait several more months when I could afford one. This was given to me free of charge.

I usually go with HP products when it comes to laptops. I thought about getting a chromebook at one point but it's better to stick with the tech companies you know. Atleast yoru samsung book is useful for the church kids.
