Get back on your feet

September 24, 2019 12:51am CST
You know when you tried to get your head together, made plans on your own, did the things you've always dreamed of, or simply explored the seemingly impossible at the time, but kept delaying because there re people in your life who are still very needy of you. Years passed, the dream is still alive. The kids have grown. Some of them have left home and have their own little families. You have in your hand are the memories you hold so dear. Dreams that keep your hopes and happiness are your strong confidence in life. Everyone suddenly pops up here and there critically judges you because you have your own mind. Or do not care to ask you about these things because you are "falling away from your faith". Friends have left you and do not share the things and lessons learned that are important to you. Your mother, sisters and brothers share your thoughts and they understand. They are happy for you. That's more important. You don't owe anyone. Ditch them. So, get excited getting back on your feet.

I'm sure many people smother their dreams while they're busy raising a family.

It's actually in the nature of man to see others fail and be miserable. One reason is, it's a defense mechanism. These people envy you and they couldn't do what you do, nor dream your dream. I also delete these kind of mongrels in my life. Sometimes, when I have time, I give rebuttals they couldn't respond to. Which is a waste of my precious time, really. Hope you have found your peace somehow.

I've always had my dreams and I've always had a pen in my hand and paper to write on. I never smothered my dreams, and now my dreams are a reality. Nobody should allow another person to smother their dreams.
