Exorbitant Price of Food charged in Theatres!!

Hi guys. I am sure everyone likes to go to theatres and watch movies on weekends with their families or friends or colleagues. I too enjoy going to theatre and watching movies. It's a different experience altogether. However, in India the price charged for food in theatres is exorbitant. For every item it's charged above 100rs. On the other hand, the prices of tickets have gone down but not of the food which is served in theatres. Due to strict rules you aren't allowed to carry any eatables inside the theatre. However, this going on since a long time, still people don't raise any objection and are happily paying for them. I feel the government should regularise the rates or atleast allow people to carry food with themselves as not everyone can afford it.

Just don't pay it. Nobody is going to die if they don't eat for 2 hours while they watch a movie. If everyone stopped buying it the prices would soon come down.

Hahaha. It's not about not able to survive for 2 hours. Also people here don't mind spending money on food as they are out on weekends, so I don't think it would work out as you said. Thanks for replying anyways.

@Rashnag theatres can be very noisy places due to lots of people eating crunchy snacks

Exactly. We go more than two hours without food all the time so what's the problem not eating during a movie.

Here it is pretty expensive for popcorn and drinks. Often people sneak in drinks and snacks.

You are correct. It was really a criminal wastage when I paid Rs.110/- for 2 Samosas multiplied by 2 = 220/- in Inox during Rambo Endgame

@Rashnag I prefer to make my own popcorn if want to at home and sit in the comfort of my home to watch a movie or TV program on Netflix. To go out to a movie theater it is very expensive and also if you buy snacks it is very expensive too. People bring their own snacks in all the time or sneak them in.

Food and drinks are also expensive here, and people are not allowed to bring their own food or drinks. They never check our bags so some people bring their own food. It is against the rules, but many people do it anyway. I only buy something to drink. I don't need to eat while I am there.
