I ordered Pancit Palabok for my lunch. To those who do not have an idea about pancit palabok, it is a noodle dish with thick sauce in it made from several ingredients like meat, shrimps, smoked fish flakes and others. It is then top with slices of boiled eggs and leeks once served.
The dish is not available and I’m disappointed. I looked for another dish that does not take much time to cook. I just replaced my first order with fish fillet in sweet and sour sauce. It’s OK then but it would be better if I have what came to mind first because that was I really wanted.

I can relate to the feeling especially if somebody is already registered in our mind.

@ZedSmart and I also know what craving for " palabok" feels like lol! We use to buy 1 " bilao" ( large plate made of bamboo) from time to time till we learned to make our own, saved us a lot and a good way to kill the craving

@louievill That's great. When you prepare for your own, you can be sure how it is handled and you can have plenty of servings. I never tried cooking palabok yet because I think that it takes time to prepare especially the shrimps juice to make it more flavorful.

@ZedSmart it is disappointing but sometimes we need to adjust I guess. It is more disappointing when we go to a restaurant and then they say that a particular order can't be done. I feel like giving them a good lecture, but I don't lol. It happened with me n number of times.

Yes, I can understand the feeling when we miss the dish which we wanted desperately at that time! It is rather a craving for that dish that makes us more wanting for the dish! Thanks God at least you have got fish fillet with sour sauce as an alternative! Have a nice time with it!

Sometimes when my mind is conditioned for a particular food, it is frustrating when it is not available.
