Had a good afternoon...

Spent the afternoon at the senior living facility today, in which I will be a resident in the very near future. Less than 10 folks ahead of me. So not that much longer to wait! Yay! Four years has been an awful long wait! For my new friends on Facebook; I received my approval letter into the program back in May. But the waiting list is very long to get into it. Everyone wants to live at the beach! I am making so many nice friends there. Many can't wait until I move in so I can join in on the games, and activities. Never thought I would get excited about playing canasta, and going to bingo! LOL They keep telling me about all the cool things to do, that is apart of the program at this facility. Monthly birthday parties; holiday dinners; bible studies; senior moment gatherings; karaoke night; monthly community meetings where leadership positions are voted on by the residents; nutritionists that come to help the residents; free podiatrist screening for foot care; free fresh meats, fresh veggies, canned goods, and breads...etc. delivered twice a month to the residents. These are just a few of the things that are offered. We usually just come together in the lobby, and just sit there and laugh for hours about so many things. We have a few comics in the bunch. A few have even invited me into their apartments, so I can get a feel for the place. I am kind of taking mental notes of what I will need. I have nothing, and so I will need to get just about everything. Many remember my dad, when he and my stepmom used to live there. They really liked them. It is nice to hear the old stories, and comments. I feel like God is giving me a family to be a part of now. I don't have to live in this world alone anymore.
