"Alien" is a science-fiction horror movie that was released in 1979. CAST Tom Skerritt - Dallas Sigourney Weaver - Ripley Veronica Cartwright - Lambert Harry Dean Stanton - Brett John Hurt - Kane Ian Holm - Ash Yaphet Kotto - Parker Bolaji Badejo - Alien (Bolaji is 6' 10" tall) Helen Horton - The Voice of MOTHER The Nostromo, a commercial towing space vehicle, is en route to Earth with a crew in stasis. The Nostromo is carrying twenty million tons of mineral ore and a refinery. The on-board computer is activated, the lights come on; and the lids open on the sleep chambers. Gradually the crew awakens. They're enjoying a meal in the mess when Captain Dallas is summoned by MOTHER, the on-board computer. It's soon determined that they are still far from Earth...not even halfway home. The computer has picked up an unknown signal. Parker states that they are not a rescue ship and should be paid extra for extra work. Science Officer Ash says that per the company contract they are obliged to investigate every signal from an intelligent source -- if they don't, their pay will be lost. The ship separates from the refinery and sets course for the planet. They have a rough landing; and there is some damage to report. Dallas, Kane and Lambert leave the ship to investigate the origin of the signal. They discover a derelict spacecraft of unknown origin. They lose contact with the Nostromo when they enter the ship. They find a very large alien sitting in a large chair on an elevated platform with an unknown outward trauma to the chest. Lambert wants to leave. Meanwhile, analysis of the signal suggests that it's not an SOS but a warning. Ripley want to go after the team and warn them; but Ash says that they probably know that it's a warning by now. I would be remiss if I told you any more. You will have to watch the movie. Originally met with mixed reviews, the film is now considered one of the greatest films of all time. It has received several accolades; and this movie has spawned several sequels. This is a Class A, Number 1, top-of-the-heap science-fiction horror movie! If you haven't seen it yet, you should see it now...and it's all enhanced by the great music of Jerry Goldsmith. Great score, great screenplay, great actors, great movie! This movie is rated R. Thank you for stopping by; and I know that you will enjoy "Alien". Photo Credit: Pixabay

I first saw Alien at the theaters when I was a kid. Scared the you-know-what out of me, but I absolutely loved it! Between Star Wars in 1977 and Alien in 1979, I was hooked on science fiction!
