Of course, because I have an obsessive nature, I can't leave something unfinished, even if I seem to have lost interest for a bit. 50 songs with "of" in the title, ranked in no particular order. We are at #26: "The Court of the Crimson King" by King Crimson.
Led by guitarist extraordinaire Robert Fripp, legendary prog rock band King Crimson formed in London in 1968, and the next year released their classic debut album, In the Court of the Crimson King, one of the first, and still, greatest prog rock albums ever recorded. And despite a few hiatuses and lineup changes (in all, counting Fripp, 22 world-class musicians have called the band home at one time or another. Seriously, every one of these dudes could PLAY,) the group still exists.
The Crimson King roster of Fripp, Greg Lake (Emerson, Lake, and Palmer,) Ian McDonald (who would go on to found Foreigner,) and Michael Giles (who played drums and percussion for folks such as Leo Sayer and Murray Head,) came up with a doozy of an album, a sort of blueprint for the entire progressive rock genre.
During the band's lengthy existence, King Crimson has thus far placed exactly two singles onto the Billboard Hot 100. 1982's "Heartbeat," recorded during the Adrian Belew era, and "The Court of the Crimson King," which stalled at #80. It has been covered multiple times, notably by Doc Severinsen (!), Saxon, Asia, and The Claypool Lennon Delirium (Primus' Les Claypool and Sean Lennon.)
Prog at it's finest!

Really? I know you are more of a glam guy, but I thought you might have some of their stuff.

Always interesting where these artists wind up when they leave a band. ELP was another terrific group! Sadly only Palmer survives from this dynamic trio

I know. It's inevitable, but still shocking when it happens.

Not the least bit surprised to see this on your list. One of the classics of prog rock.

I have heard of them but there are so many bands out there I just never listened to their music before. I will explore them further on YouTube
