A friend gets a 1 star rating on Amazon for his poetry book

My friend who published a poetry book some years ago received a review on Amazon some time in March 2019. The person gave him 1 star rating. The title of the review said "Totally Wrong Author" and the body of the review said "Bad Mistake."
It is a verified purchase, so I am assuming the person actually bought the book. By "big mistake" does she mean she regrets getting the book or does she simply mean it's a mix-up?
Judging by the review though, it seems that she didn't intend to buy the book and purchased it by accident. Maybe she thought she was getting a different book.
I am not sure if she actually read the book or not, but if her purchase was indeed a mistake why then did she give this book a 1 star rating. It is not right to give a low rating to a book just because it turns out you purchased the wrong book or got the book by mistake. It is not fair to the author and ruins his average rating.

Sounds like Amazon made the mistake and put someone else`s name on her book, or maybe the guy stole her book and published it as his.
Does not sound like the bought the wrong book, that would be something to talk to Amazon about.

It's not her book. My friend's book is his. He did not steal anything. It's all his poetry.

@lovebuglena I am just saying what I felt it meant. How I took this comment that was left.
Seems if the company made a mistake she would contact them not leave a review.

@andriaperry Yeah, I got that now. If they shipped her the wrong book I would also think she would contact them about it. But that probably wouldn't stop her from posting that review. Though she could've been more detailed in what she wrote.

She should have been more explicit in her comments so it could be understood exactly what the problem was.

The review is not by my friend. It's my friend's book that rated low.

Maybe she did but her mistake should not mean the book deserves a 1 star rating.

@lovebuglena Yes, where’s the justice. She could have rate it 3.

I think the problem is more with Amazon than with your friend, because if she wanted to buy a different book...why giving one star to an author of a completely different book? It doesn't make a lot of sense

My friend is the author of the book, not the female that left the review. If a person chooses to give a 1 star rating for a book he/she has to back it up with a detailed review of why he/she thinks the book deserves such a rating.

@samysotelo18 I don't think that Amazon shipped the wrong book. The buyer probably ordered the wrong one.

@lovebuglena Yes i agree, it's unfair that your friend got a bad review for some shipment mistake
