Beautiful Italian has left my place of work in order to pursue her dream of gaining a degree. We used to be a group of nine souls, in our own friendly little office. Then we were amalgamated with The Others and the frustration and stress this brought with it caused nine to become eight, eight to become seven, seven to become six and six to become five. With effect from last week, five has become four. The rest of the team has expanded onehundredfold, mainly with ditsy little girls who annoy the crap out of me. But our little gang of muppets, misfits and scallywags is diminishing. We joke that I will soon be the only one left. Last night was full of frivolous fun, p0rnstar martinis, food, mandarin mojitos, much laughter and lots of silliness. Starters for afters, arguments over whether the correct term is afters, desserts or pudding, and marvelling at the injustice of a restaurant blatantly employing ten year olds to wait at tables. We will miss the daily drama of the passionate Italian in the staff room, the YouTube channel worthy rants and gossip, and the love and affection which seeps from her pores. But all is not lost. There will be meet ups. Drinkie-poos. Facebook messaging. And - perhaps most importantly - she is not stressed anymore. She is happy. And she is already making enemies at university! Bless her.

@poppylicious When it comes to beautiful Italians there are so many to choose between. Let’s hope they don’t all age as badly as Sophia Loren.

She had to stay natural, too many plastic surgeries.

@Poppylicious Why this strange confusion or races? It is true that there is not a huge difference from Polish and Italian traits.

People always mistake her as Polish. Our Polish friend always gets mistaken as Italian. Much laughter ensues.

Thanks. I need that peace. I've already had tears twice and we're only five weeks into the academic year!

She is passionately outspoken, and wears her heart on her sleeve. Even her enemies love her!

I'm sure you're not allowed to say 'ditsy little girls' these days. You'll be sent on a course if they catch you thinking things like that!!

@Poppylicious Oh I much prefer that!! You do have to be careful though. You can't go criticising the younger generation. They are, after all, far more intelligent than previous generations. Or so they like to tell us.

@WorDazza Oh gosh yes. All malicious gossip about the younger generation is done surreptitiously. It's all very The Resistance in 'Allo 'Allo ... :)

Well, it sounds better than "those effingly stupidly ignorant girls who are barely out of nappies and look no older {and sometimes younger} than the students they support".
