One of Those Feel Good Stories

Maybe you aren't aware of it, but myLot has a "feel-good story" reporter, @Deepizzaguy (George) from Louisiana. Every day he scours the news for some good stories to counterbalance all the misery and despair we're hit over the head with.
I'm not trying to muscle in on his territory, but there was a "feel-good story" from this area recently that I want to highlight.
A second-grade boy named Tyler sent $5 to the Newport Aquarium in Newport, Kentucky, along with a note stating that he wanted to help the animals. He was inspired after he and his family visited the aquarium over the summer.
The WAVE Foundation, a non-profit organization that works with the Newport Aquarium with educational projects, wanted to meet this kid. He didn't sign his last name (just "Tyler"), and there was no return address.
The story made local news, and the boy's teacher recognized his "handwriting" and notified the news media. The boy's family wants to remain anonymous, but they were very proud of his donation of his allowance money. They were also amazed at the attention the five-dollar donation gained.
The WAVE Foundation told Tyler they were "matching" his donation with a $5,000 donation to the aquarium.
Just one of those feel-good stories that we need to hear about every now and then. And, if you read George's discussions, you'll see there's plenty of good left in this world.

Glad they kept the anonymity so the kid won't be blasted all over online.

Oddly, because I believe that this current generation of teenagers is a lost cause, it seems as if the little kids these days actually get it and understand that they can make a difference. Maybe there is hope after all. Weird.

Yes, I'm very familiar with George and his stories. That's a wonderful story; and I'm glad that the WAVE Foundation matched his donation with $5,000 for a good cause.

Nice story! Kids are very impressionable and have no agenda for giving at that age. Just a pure heartfelt act of giving by Tyler
P.S. That must of been some Aquarium for him to part with his Allowance

Wow! That is a really great feel good story. The kid was so generous and a great example to everyone, including adults who earn a lot but can't give even a dime of their earnings. This kid gave from his allowance!
