Short Story: Alan thought that he had lived a past life, as an American Indian Shaman, but had he really?

Alan thought that this American Indian guy was him. Was he deluded, or not?

Alan Freedston, often had dreams that he had been an American Indian Shaman in the past. Alan was a Frenchman now, but at various times in his life, he had come across various quotes of American Indians, and their philosophy really resonated with him. He also would dream often of himself living in those times, dressed in a bearskin, and performing various rituals, and cleansing rites, for his tribe. Alan was 76 now, and, over the years, he had compiled his own notebook, of some of his remembrances of his “past self”, as an American Indian Shaman, called, “Chief littlebird”. Firstly, he remembered some of the adages that his own father, the Head Chief (known as, Big Chief Whitewolf) of the tribe, had taught him, back then. “Never be afraid to cry”, his father had told him, “Crying frees your soul, washing it clean again.” “Sadness sits beside happiness, and tears can be cried from both states.” “Life lives not separately from death. Do not be deceived by appearances.” “You cannot be yourself, unless you stop sleeping, but once you are yourself, then you can start really sleeping. And when you are asleep, that is when you are really your real self. The Shamanic sleeper is the real self sleeping." “God gives us each his own love. It is up to us how we give it back out to others.” Then, he had recorded some of his own memories of events in that past life, that he thought that he could remember. For example, Alan remembered his own death, where he had been hanged by the white settlers, because he had tried to give medicine to one of their children, who, at first, had seemed to have gotten worse, and so they had accused him of poisoning the young girl. After his hanging though, she recovered, and she lived a long life after that. Native remedies are often like that, you get a bit worse, before you start to get better. Alan lived most of his life this way, thinking and dwelling on what he had thought was one of his past lives. In this current life also, Alan likes to cook. He always makes up his own recipes, or/and, he likes to add his own extra ingredients to any basic recipe that he comes across. Alan thought that his being like this was because he used to mix herbs, and potions before, as a Shaman. The thing is though, none of us live past lives, but we all live a part of each other’s lives. All is connected, and all takes place in the inner worlds right now, and so the time-based world lives spaced out here, but all at the same time internally, and so Alan picks up on others in the inner world of which he is connected too, as we all are, as all helps all, in all places, times and worlds, if we are open to seeing this. Each of us has a unique soul, and that soul takes on various outer bodies, personalities, etc. etc. over its existence, whenever it dips part of itself into time-based life. It's always the same soul though, which remains the same one for us, ever since God created it to be us. God held us in his hand before we were born, says the Christian Bible, and this was as he was making us, as our souls. That's very fascinating story. If Alan had strong feeling of connection with his past life as Native American Shaman means he wasn't delusional at all. Agree, it sounds like a fairy tale, but not everything in this world can be explained...

@innertalks absolutely. I heard the story about a woman, who claimed she was some great warrior in the past. Thanks for the link. That's indeed really fascinating subject.

@Julie555 Yes, it can explain many things, l think. Even homosexuality might be explained if we see that the person changed sexes and became a man when he was a woman before. That explanation is offered on that site l linked to above.

I have heard of instances where some have strong recall of past lives or incidences that could have happened to them, not in this life. I like to go back at times when I get a feeling of experiencing great family love with lots of time to love - not like now where one is just running chasing mirages and dreams. I think Alan has brought forward strong memories that reflect his past life. In India too, there have been cases where children had claimed to have lived at another place in earlier times and upon further inquiry, it was found a family fitting the description had lived there - siva

Yes, the link that I provided above gives many such examples that have been checked out thoroughly, and which are very hard to explain. Scars/birthmarks existing on someone at the exact spot where they claimed they were stabbed and killed for instance, in their past life, is an interesting one. Fascinating stuff, which I like to read and to write about.

@Shiva49 Yes, the leaders like to flex their muscles, and beat their chests, rather than let truth take a front seat in their negotiations. "What is negotiation but the accumulation of small lies leading to advantage?" Felix Dennis, a British poet, and publisher, (1947 to 2014) said this. Let's hope that this is not really true, if the world is to progress past its lies towards truth.

@innertalks Most of such recalls are brushed aside like UFO sightings. In a cynical world, it is like "off with their heads" without even a look. However, in ancient cave paintings, there are depictions of flying saucers and aliens visiting us. When we cannot explain some of the magic tricks, the possibility of those that defy logic happening is worth more than a cursory appraisal and dismissal. They reveal what we do not know yet and we do not know anything that really matters come to think of it! Now our leaders spend their time spiting each other while forgetting what Jesus said "Let anyone of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." siva
