One Thousand Three Hundred and Thirteen years ago a man by the name of Fujiwara Mahito started the Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkann Inn. He would be a proud man if he was living today as 52 generations of his descendants have kept up the place, expanding it and keeping it relevant today. There are several amenities to be had and the inn attracts celebrities and political leaders from across the world to soak in the healing waters and drink from the hot springs. Mt Fuji is two hours away by car. There is plenty of nature to enjoy around you, and rooms start at $485.00 USD. Would you visit this inn for the hot springs, the nature or for the history itself?

I would visit this inn just to find out how his descendants feel about him being only one of their 4 trillion greatx52 grandparents!

I'd stop in, not stay because the prices are exorbitant in my opinion. I'd be curious about the history myself.

At that price I could get a week on a beach holiday for the cost of one night there!!! Great history but way too expensive.

I agree. I got this info off of their website and it didn't offer much in the way of other amenities. Atleast, the website didn't boast of any.

@WorDazza Flights, rental car, gas etc. The place is secluded so if you wanted to do anything else it'd be costly. I'll stick to trips to the mountains or beach.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Plus the flights to Japan would be fairly costly too. I'll stick to my week in Cyprus I think.

That's not even factoring in plane tickets and car rentals!

It can get expensive when travelling abroad. I would like to visit several countries one day but it requires money and flying. I have never flown before.

@Nakitakona I would rather have all of my travel expenses paid in advance, or as many as possible. I would not want to land back home with debt to overshadow my fond memories.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It could be possible for there is a travel plan - fly now and pay later.
