Things go awry when sent from UPS to USPS

United States

I do not know why these things go awry. Trouble happens when the USPS gets involved with an order that was sent first via the UPS. I do not know if it is because their induction systems are vastly different, or just what it is. However, when I see that my package has been taken from the UPS and given to the USPS I know to expect a delay. My vitamin package is no different. According to tracking, my package sat in my city for three days before it was sorted and processed. I should expect it tomorrow but I won't get my hopes up. As an aside I have another package coming Fed Ex that took no more than two days from package to shipping. I expect it tomorrow. I have to be careful with Fed Ex too as packages have been delivered to the neighborhood right above mine in the past. Does anyone else have such trouble with couriers? Haven't experienced any troubles. Hoping that I do not experience such because I'm expecting signed match-used mma gloves from a couple of UFC fighters that I've won in a contest.

@allen0187 Are they coming from out of country?

I hope that they will arrive to you swiftly and safely. Sometimes contest prizes can take a little longer to receive.

The usual trouble with deliveries ever since the start of time.

@ScribbledAdNauseum gee, so there are items that are archived from the misdelivered.

@Alexandoy Let me clarify, these are old letters from a long time ago, perhaps as far back as the 1500's. When addresses were not like they are today. I believe a lot of the letters in the box that I refer to were not picked up because the people did not wish to pay the postage. In those days it was not the sender who paid postage but the recipient.

No troubles at all here, our Postal Service is very efficient, every package posted before 5 pm is delivered the day after.

That is very efficient. It seems that it varies with our post office. I've also seen just regular mail being delivered at odd times. A friend of mine who lives in a more rural area receives their mail at around 11 am every day. Ours can come anywhere between 2 pm and 6 pm.

@LadyDuck Is it a different vehicle that brings the packages? Our mail carrier brings our packages unless it is winter when people are shopping more online. Last winter our mail carrier told me that there is a separate vehicle dispatched for packages.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I live in Israel and I never had sending things to the United States till last year. It never made it to two places and got lost. I switched post offices because of that mistake and I had to resend something again and lost money on sending it. It was not a courier but from the Post Office.

@Hannihar The china thing is just what I've seen in a video or two, it might not be true or may not occur often, I do not know. Yes, losing money is no good, and if you are sending it to a customer it makes it worse.

I've heard that things can get lost coming to the US or severely damaged. That can be annoying. I saw a video where people in China can be rough with your packages.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Things I used to send to the United States arrived at the destinations but last year two items did not arrive and I lost money and not very happy. I had to go to another post office. We get things here from China and they seem fine.

No not lately I haven't. But when I first moved here my packages were always delivered next door, it was fine because that's my landlord place so I always got my package.

@hillhjill Oh well that's awesome then. I had to call fed ex because I had a food delivery service item mis-delivered. I was nice about it but did express my frustration as it wasn't the first time. I told them "Look, I'm about to walk out the door and will be gone for a week. I was expecting the item today at this time and it's not here." She quickly found it and I was able to get it before I had to leave.

Ah well that's good. Did you call the couriers and let them know of the mis-deliveries?

I think we don't have any problem. My regular courier is LBC. I once availed of Ninja Van and JRS Express. My shipment is easily monitored by Internet by using my tracking number.

Yes, we can monitor our packages as well. There was twice that Fed Ex changed the delivery status to "delivered" and there was no package to be found. We looked everywhere. We have three ways to get into the house and we looked in the two places we might expect to find the package. We had to call the Fed Ex people and both times the parcel was delivered to a house directly behind us but in another neighborhood. It happened once to another family member in the household and once to myself. I told the lady helping me that it was uncalled for and that the driver needed to be reprimanded for not making sure it was the right house. Luckily the owners of the house ere very courteous to us both times.

@Nakitakona We can do that here too, sort of. If we are going to be away we can write that we would like our package to be delivered to our neighbor and give the address of the neighbor.

@ScribbledAdNauseum ours is different. The item could be delivered or turned over to a person other than the owner or a member of his family.

I have had trouble at times with every mail delivery service other than Fedex, they are the best.

They can't find your address, right? They always deliver it across the street? UPS works very well for us here, and the mail isn't half bad when the journey for the package is completely through them. Fed Ex has mis-delivered twice. I'm hoping they won't do that today as it shouldn't be too hot to melt the soap, but if it does get mis-delivered it might just...

I don't when it's transit is through USPS all the way, but when UPS has it first it takes USPS two extra days to deliver it for some reason.

I’m only using only one courier that I trust. So far I don’t have issues.

We can't always pick how our packages get delivered. For instance, if we go with ebay we aren't able to pick the shipping method.

These are all US based as far as I am aware, though Fed Ex might also work in Canada, unsure.
