"Back to the Future" is a science fiction film that was released in 1985. It's the first in a trilogy of films.
CAST

Christopher Lloyd - Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown
Lea Thompson - Lorraine Baines-McFly
Crispin Glover - George McFly
Thomas F. Wilson - Biff Tannen
Claudia Wills - Jennifer Parker
James Tolkan - Gerald Strickland
Marc McClure - Dave McFly
Wendie Jo Sperber - Linda McFly
The movie opens with a scene in Dr. Emmett Brown's garage/laboratory. It's 1985 in the fictional town of Hill Valley, California. There are a large number of clocks. A robotic tin can opener opens a can of dog food and dumps it into an overflowing bowl marked "Einstein". A television set and radio turn on. On the television a woman newscaster is announcing the theft of a case of plutonium. This will prove important in scenes to come.
Marty McFly replaces the keys under the mat and opens the garage door. He calls out for Dr. Brown and whistles for Einstein but gets no response. Marty puts down his skateboard; and it rolls across the floor until it hits a hidden box of plutonium. Marty turns on Doc's amplifier system and turns it all the way up. He plugs in his electric guitar and plucks a string. The amplifier blows up, throwing Marty up against a bookshelf. Just then the phone rings. It's Doc asking Marty to meet him at Twin Pines Mall at 1:15 AM.
Now the scene is the high school auditorium. Marty and his band have auditioned for the "Battle of the Bands" and been told that they're too loud. They did a heavy metal version of "The Power of Love" (by Huey Lewis and the News). The person that tells them they are too loud is Huey Lewis in a cameo appearance.
Marty meets Dr. Brown in the parking lot of the Twin Pines Mall at the designated time. Dr. Brown shows Marty his time machine made from a DeLorean. It's powered by plutonium stolen from Libyan terrorists. After showing Marty an experiment using Einstein in the DeLorean, Doc tells him about the day that he had the epiphany for time machine travel: November 5, 1955. Doc absently sets the date in the DeLorean for that time. Just then the Libyans show up and shoot Doc. Marty jumps into the car to try and escape. He hits 88 miles per hour, activating the time machine; and Marty is hurled back to November 5, 1955.
If you want to see what happens next, you will have to watch the movie. This is such an interesting and action-filled motion picture. The critics commented favorably about this movie; and I have to agree. It received a Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, a Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Film and an Academy Award for Best Sound Effects Editing. It's a film for young and old viewers -- please note it has a PG rating. I give this movie my full recommendation!
This movie is rated PG.
