So proud of her

I was to close the back yard door when I noticed a huge rat near the hanger. Shocked about and asked the two dogs who did it, and seems the female one was more guilty about it.
But I was proud because I didn't expect her to hunt down a rat that size. Usually before it was our oldest dog but now she seemed to be a hunter herself.
This was the reason she refused to leave the backyard after I asked her too, she must be on guard mode again.
have a nice day

@lovinangelsinstead21 so far, I have seen only cats suffer from rats if any. Dogs just bite rats and kill them. Cats sometimes run away from rats or even get a bite. That dog is a good guard :-)

@lovinangelsinstead21 feed the cats around once in a while, and rats will less likely to come. Cats sometimes eat rats too.

She protected the house from a rat. If the rat was alive, it could enter the house, eat stuff, infest, damage furniture. The dog is a hero. Can you please upload another photo of the dog ? It is daylight and I can't see clearly the dog, it blends with the background. :-)

Hello @stringer321 Nope the rat could have entered the house anyways or probably stick on the roof.

Hello @rakski I hope she doesn't get sick after what she did. She didn't eat the rat so i think she's okay.

Our first dog was a rodent hunter. She had killed more than 10 rats and maybe 5 mice.

Your dog is a good guard; a hunter. I thought only cats hunt rats.

I hate rats and I notice that they stay away from cats. So what happened with the rat? Where I used to live a saw a big rat climb up the outside of a building.
