Saturday

I woke up with the sciatica unchecked in my left hip, so I am taking it very quiet today. J even yelled at me to stop when I was trying to put something in the dishwasher. So that was that for the day. Sigh. My desire to stay out of pain is at loggerheads to try and keep the house tidy. Grumble. J went off to drop forms and paperwork at his accountants, and then stopped by Addams -- the local grocery/supermarket -- and brought back freshly baked croissants, two orders of very delicious fish and chips, and two cupcakes. Yum. I'm indulging in a reread of an old favourite -- To Serve Them All My Days by R.F. Delderfield. I enjoy his novels, very English in tone, but not at all sentimental. I can't stand gooey, mawkish novels, they're just not at all my style. And now to have a fresh pot of tea and enjoy more of my novel. Whatever would I do without books! I hope everyone else is having a good Saturday.

I've tried doing that , but the pain and numbness gets to unbearable levels. I have multiple problems, so I've learned the hard way to take things quietly

Sciatica attacks are the pits. I have not read Delderfield in years. I should look him up.

His books are very good. I fell in love with the current one when Masterpiece aired an adaptation of of it back in the 80's (I think). It was very good and didn't veer too far off from the original.

@Telynor Bummer. My library doesn't have much of his work. Masterpiece Theater is a grand show.
