The Carpenters were an American vocal and instrumental duo of brother and sister Richard and Karen Carpenter (born 1950). They had a successful 14-year career and recorded 10 albums, numerous singles and several television specials. Their soft rock, easy listening and adult contemporary genres were extremely popular.
They sold more than 90 million records worldwide and are one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Karen died tragically in 1983 of heart failure brought on by anorexia. Another superb artist gone before her time.
How do you pick a favorite Carpenters song? Karen's voice was amazing. I have chosen "Superstar" (see below).

Hmm. I never met a person with anorexia in real life. I know that there are some people like that but I don't know exactly why they starve themselves.

@Cristi_Ichim There were comments made in the media that she was overweight (but she really wasn't); and she took it to heart and began to take laxatives.

I've always liked the Carpenters and, in fact, some of their songs are in my playlist that I've put in our car back home.
